QA Technician

**QA Technician - Full Time, Permanent**

**Role**:

- Reporting to the QA Manager, QA Department, the QA Technician is responsible for ensuring processes, products and services are within set standard and requirements by overseeing, monitoring, inspecting and assuring the compliance of materials, parts and products to PTI Transformers established quality standard from the manufacturing process up until shipment._

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform “QA hold” inspections and quality requirement reviews
- Authorize release of product for continued processing and shipment
- Perform quality inspections of incoming materials and release for use in manufacturing
- Monitor quality standards on the shop floor
- Collect and compile data for statistical process control
- Perform root cause analysis of non-conforming product and processes
- Perform and assist in troubleshooting of product failures and defects
- Prepare reports on root cause analysis and failure inspections
- Make recommendations to improve and reduce product defects; when feasible
- Manage quality documentation by project
- Liaise with customer inspectors during customer witness points
- Monitor, test and approve special processes
- Perform calibration and inspection of equipment
- Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 and assure on-going ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 registration requirements are met
- May be required to be on-call to co-ordinate inspection requirements 7 days/week

**Requirements**:

- Technologist diploma in a related field and/or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 3 years of quality related experience and experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and working experience with ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015, including internal auditing experience
- Knowledge of quality concepts and tools, statistical techniques, metrology and calibration, inspection and testing methods, quality audits and preventive and corrective action techniques
- Computer literacy (Microsoft 365 and SAP)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to read and analyze technical drawings, specifications and BOM
- Demonstrated organizational change management ability
- Ability to build rapport and influence decisions, facilitate problem solving and effectively manage conflict
- Ability to communicate with customers
- Ability to do multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines

Pay: $52,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
