Mental Health Practitioner

This critical role at HealthOne is an integral part of our Mental Health team, alongside our other health practitioners that include several Mental Health Practitioners, Physicians, Medical Specialists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, Pharmacist, Dentists, Naturopathic Doctors, and Optometrists.

If you have a niche passion and specific expertise with the East-Asian community, helping them through various life challenges, racism, discrimination and inequality, this might be a great opportunity for you In this role, you will work as a member of an inter-professional team at HealthOne Wellness, and you will provide a broad range of mental health assessment and treatment services for East-Asian patients as you help to make a positive difference in their life.

We are looking for a therapist that can deliver sessions in person or virtually, depending on the client's preference. We offer:

**Job Summary**
- Provide 1 to 1 counselling (and/or other mental health) services for patients in Toronto's East-Asian community
- Provide clinical assessments and develop recommendations
- Ability to administer various psychological assessments, while listening with empathy to your clients
- Manage your administrative records and maintain required clinic documentation
- Participate in program development and evaluation activities
- Offer & participate in culturally-relevant mental health advocacy talks and workshops

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Completion of a Master's Degree in Social Work or related field
- Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers or Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists
- Clinical experience with members of the East-Asian community
- Thorough understanding and commitment of anti-East-Asian racism/anti-oppression theory and practice
- Experience of anti-east-Asian racism and discrimination or extensive understanding of, and commitment to, resisting anti-East-Asian racism
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills as proven based on previous experience in a similar role
- Ability and desire to work independently & collaboratively as a team in our inter-professional clinic, ultimately keeping the patient's goals in mind
- Charismatic and able to empower patients to make positive choices
- Solid communication & interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and self-motivated nature
- Warm, approachable and client-centered professional
- Able to work a flexible schedule to meet patient volume demands

**Nice to have**:

- Specialized training or certifications related to assisting members of the Asian community in the Toronto area
- Knowledge of culturally specific services in the Toronto area that are relevant and available to East-Asian patients
