Provides communications support for the Immigration Partnership program, including developing print and digital communications materials, maintaining website and digital platforms, and participating in promotional events.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates production of material for public awareness campaigns (e.g., brochures, posters, advertisements). Takes photographs and videos. Obtains content, writes text, prepares mock layouts, and coordinates graphic and print completion. Completes purchase orders for management authorization for design work and print production.
- Writes, revises, and reviews materials and content for print, website, and social media. Modifies and adapts messaging according to medium and audience. Proofreads and edits materials prepared by self and others, per policies/procedures/standards.
- Maintains website and other digital platforms (e.g., posts content, links). Liaises with IT and vendor to troubleshoot issues.
- Works with other program staff and program partners to facilitate input and feedback regarding communications materials and ensure content meets stakeholder needs and program mandate.
- Prepares public service announcements, media alerts, and news releases regarding promotions, programs, and services. Maintains media and contact lists.
- Participates in and assists to organize events and activities (e.g., trade shows, community events, parades). Coordinates development and production of related promotional materials.
- Responds to electronic inquiries, compliments, and complaints or forwards for response. Monitors program coverage and benchmarks to measure impact of website and social media programs, and reports to management on same.
- Researches opportunities for distributing positive communications to support program mandate.
- Contacts businesses and community organizations regarding opportunities for support.
- Assists management with the development and implementation of new social media marketing and communication strategies, as required.
- Consults with corporate communications regarding media releases, new projects, and problems/ updates to social media and web tools. Interacts with creative multimedia services for services, including graphic design and printing requests.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required**:

- Knowledge of and ability to comply with policies, procedures, communication and graphics standards, related legislation (e.g., accessibility, privacy), and Canadian Press Standards.
- Analytical and organizational skills to edit and proofread own and others’ work, assess and respond appropriately to inquiries (referring issues to other staff and management as appropriate), and meet multiple demands and changing priorities.
- Communication skills to work with and facilitate communications messaging with program partners and other staff, and participate as an effective team member.
- Computer skills with ability to use software such as Microsoft Office, desktop publishing software, social media/web-based communication tools, and website management software (e.g., iCreate, Joomla, Canva, iMovie, Hootsuite, Adobe premiere Pro).
- May be required to alter working hours for special events, and requested to work weekend hours for same.
- Ability to travel within Waterloo Region.
- Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.
