**Role At a Glance**:
Working alongside the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the leading and managing tactical Human Resources functions including performance management, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, compensation, benefits, administration and team operations. This individual will leverage their exceptional relationship building skills to maintain strong connections with leadership and employees that will help drive departmental and organizational initiatives forward

**What Will You Do**:

- Oversee the Human Resources department functionality, processes, and initiatives related to employee engagement, compensation, performance, recognition, and employee relations
- Participate in Human Resources team planning, growth, and development strategies
- Work closely with Business Unit Leaders, Team Managers, and Team Leaders to optimize employee engagement and assist them in building high-performing teams
- Collaborate and iterate on compensation, benefits, and performance management programs to ensure legal compliance and competitiveness
- Build strategies and execute programs and training to support our equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Manage and mentor HR employees who oversee the onboarding, offboarding, and general processes of the HR team, ensuring they have the resources and support to achieve their goals.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety coordinator to strengthen the culture of safety and enhance our Health and Safety training program
- Maintain awareness and ensure legal compliance with employment laws, regulations, industry standards, and recommended best practices
- Serve as a link between leadership and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and policies striving to resolve work-related issues.
- Track and report on relevant Human Resources metrics, and provide strategic insights and recommendations based on current and emerging trends

What You Bring to the Table
- 3-5 years of experience in a strategic Human Resources role with a strong understanding of all functions of Human Resources applicable to a mid-sized firm
- Self-starter with a high degree of initiative to institute new programs and manage change to meet business needs
- Strong understanding of relevant employment, human rights, and health and safety legislation
- Previous experience, training, or familiarity in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
- Well-developed leadership and coaching skills, both on a formal and informal basis
- Demonstrated knowledge in change management
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and ability to prioritize as required
- Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- CHRL designation would be considered an asset. Post-secondary education is a requirement
- Previous supervisory experience would be considered an asset
- Experience in Dayforce or other large HR system would be considered an asset
