Marino’s Auto Group is seeking a diligent and dedicated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting team
Who We Need:
We are looking for a diligent and dedicated PAYROLL AND ACCOUNTING CLERK to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Payroll and Accounting Clerk should be eager to take initiative in a small but busy team. As our Payroll and Accounting Clerk, not only do you take pride in meticulous work, you are willing to go the extra mile to help your team.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Responsibilities
- Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and deductions accurately and on time using Payworks.
- Verify timesheets, attendance records, and other data to ensure accuracy.
- Support Accounting Manager and/or CFO to calculate monthly bonus.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
- Stay updated with payroll tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly payroll remittances.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Oversight and support the accounts payable duties in conjunction with the Accounting Staff, including day to day entries to DMS.
- Manage the weekly payment cycle
- Maintain filing system for accounting documents
- Perform other month end tasks as assigned including bank reconciliations
- Complete ad-hoc requests and reconciliations to meet Management reporting requirements
- Support with other administrative tasks for the Accounting department
- Provide support during the annual audit including documentation and providing explanations for audit queries
What We're Looking For:
- Post-secondary education, specializing in Accounting or Finance
- Relative experience in professional services (an asset but not required)
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel
- Payroll Compliance Legislation Certification is an asset
