Part-time Experienced Seamstress

Laura Jayne Accessories has an immediate opportunity for a part-time seamstress / sewist to help with machine sewing & hand finishing of veils and wedding accessories (attaching combs to veils, light beading, etc.) in our **Studio in Wortley Village / Old South London area.**

**Qualifications**
- Experienced with domestic sewing machines and serger (rolled hem)
- Neat, quick hand-finishing skills
- Good communication in English - ability to understand basic written and spoken English
- Above average attention to detail to execute finely finished work
- Experience sewing delicate fabrics like satin, organza, tulle and other fine fabrics is nice to have, but not essential
- Positive and helpful; eager to learn, open to constructive feedback
- Good focus and attention for detailed work

**Responsibilities**
- Gather and finish veils by machine, hand sew to combs.
- Machine sew trims to wedding veils with precision and attention to detail.
- Light beading, some hand-sewn, some glued.
- Tag, fold and pack products for shipping, performing quality control checks
- Utilize sewing techniques and tools to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
- Work quickly and maintain focus to meet production deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.

**Schedule**:

- Approximately 2-3 weekday afternoon shifts in **South London, Wortley Village** area, 10-15 hours/week
- _**This opportunity is an ongoing part-time job. Unless you've done this exact type of work before, it can be a slow start while we find projects that are a fit for your stage of training**_
- After a minimum of 3 months training, there may be opportunity for *some* work from home, if you have a dedicated sewing area in a clean and pet-free home. Some work will always be performed at our studio though, this is *not* a work from home job.

Our products are delicate & we are in a specific niche of the fashion industry.

We are prepared to train you, but we are looking for a base of good sewing skills.

This role is a great fit for someone looking to supplement other work they have, or someone only looking for a part-time commitment.

It's perfect for someone looking to fill some hours in the day when their kids are at school.

The hours are not adequate if you are looking for a full-time job.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
