**Electrical Technician**

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the individual in the Electrical Technician role is responsible for evaluating, maintaining, assembling, testing, and following the design plans of Cleantek’s products.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Install and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, and equipment
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Advise management of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus
- Identify root cause of equipment malfunctions, battery operations, and electrical components
- Provide internal/on-site service of equipment including discussing issues, inspecting equipment and troubleshoot the issue
- Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications Participate in special projects as required
- Attend and participate in operation meetings including, safety, quality, finance etc. as required
- Submit reporting as required on assets and asset performance
- Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments
- Collect and compile operational or experimental data
- Carry out applied research in fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics
- Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
- Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems
- Monitor “Fleet Complete” to determine health of equipment on site
- Responsible for the maintenance of tools and company equipment used in the function of your role
- Foster professional relationships with clients, vendors, and consultants
- Assist in maintaining a clean shop facility

**Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Must be knowledgeable of current safety regulations (including client’s sites)
- General knowledge of: AC/DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems, engine maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
- Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams
- Competent in electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of industrial batteries
- Work with a high degree of independence; must be a self-starter
- Microsoft Office computer skills required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

**Education, Training, and Experience**
- Ideally completion of an electrical apprenticeship or some post-secondary education in electrical, electronic or instrumentation with at least 2 years' experience as an electrical technician
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in a manufacturing/shop environment preferred
- TDG, First Aid, H2S, WHMIS/GHS Tickets an asset.
- Previous experience with electrical assembly

**Special Conditions of Employment**
- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable mode of transportation.
- Flexibility to work over-time, evening, weekends as needed
- Willing and able to work at heights of over 100 feet
- Must be able to lift/move a minimum of 50lbs
