About Us:

Framerz Inc. is a leading prefab wall panel manufacturer in Calgary. We operate two full manufacturing shops utilizing advanced automated framing technology. We are looking for a mechanically inclined "MacGyver" who can keep our plant running smoothly, from troubleshooting high-tech automated bridges to greasing rollers and fixing a forklift.

The Role:

You will be the primary guardian of our production capability. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same. You might start the morning calibrating a laser sensor on an automated bridge and finish the day welding a bracket on a wood conveyor or servicing a Ram 3500 trailer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automated Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot Triad wall panel lines (Gen III Sheathing tables, ProFusion Bridges, Router Bridges) and EasyFrame automated saw systems.
  • Includes: Servo motors, linear bearings, chain conveyors, pneumatic clamping systems, and sensor guards.
  • General Plant Machinery: Service and repair heavy-duty wood processing equipment, including gravity infeed conveyors, pop-up skate wheels, and panel lifters.
  • Facility Systems: Maintain the wood-burning furnace and associated feed conveyors, ensuring safe and continuous operation during winter.
  • Fleet & Mobile Equipment: Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, man baskets, and a fleet of trucks/gooseneck trailers (lights, brakes, greasing).
  • Fabrication: Perform minor welding and fabrication repairs on steel racking, jigs, or broken machine parts.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Create and execute a PM schedule (greasing, belt tensioning, air line checks) to prevent downtime.

What We Need From You:

  • 10+ Years of Experience: Proven history in industrial maintenance, millwrighting, or a similar multi-trade role.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Deep understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, belt drives, and gearboxes.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot 24V DC control systems, solenoids, sensors, and basic 120/240V single-phase circuitry.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using tablet controls (HMIs) to diagnose faults on automated bridges (Triad/EasyFrame).
  • Fabrication Skills: Stick or MIG welding experience for repairs.
  • Problem Solver: You don't just swap parts; you figure out why it broke and how to fix it permanently.

Nice to Have:

  • Red Seal Millwright certification (not mandatory if experience is proven).
  • Experience in wood manufacturing or automated assembly lines.
  • Basic vehicle mechanic skills (brakes, suspension, oil changes).
