The Parlour Inn is seeking a **Maintenance Manager **to manage and administer the activities of Team Members and sub-contractors in the maintenance department including facilities within budgetary guidelines in the most effective and efficient way according to company quality and safety standards.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Accountable to the General Manager, Maintenance team, Guests and Team Members.
- Responsible for maintenance of facilities and equipment in both safe, good working order and with a high quality appearance where required.
- Perform project management functions with respect to sub-contractors during renovations.
- Coordinate Team Members to assist contractors or in performing general maintenance on the properties.
- Order supplies and equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring proper safety programs with respect to fire equipment and regulations, training or maintenance Team Members and attendance at the Health and Safety Meetings.
- Liaison with government inspectors for buildings, grounds, Team Members and the fire department as required.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Management Team Meetings to ensure proper communication within all operating departments.
- Prepare departmental operating budget annually for approval by the owner.
- Monitor costs on an ongoing basis to ensure that budget objectives are being met or exceeded.
- Supervise, direct and motivate Team Members.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance program.
- Responsible for the master key control system.
- Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties Limited’s products and services.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Professional Requirements**:

- Minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of hotel and restaurant operations required.
- Safety training and experience either through courses and seminars or hands-on.
- High school diploma combined with seminars and/or courses related to maintenance.
- Excellent technical background in plumbing, mechanical, electrical and carpenter trades require supervising staff and outside contractors.
- Basic knowledge of government legislation related to WSIB,
- Health and Safety, Building Trades and Fire regulations.
- Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheet programs and windowsrequired.
- Certification in a trade such as plumbing, mechanical or electrical is considered an asset but is not a requirement.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Above average negotiating skills required combined with good written communication skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter who is physically able to handle long hours of physical work.
- Must be diplomatic and show tact when dealing with Guests, Contractors and other Team Members.
- Ability to handle pressure and work under tight deadlines.
- Must be able to perform tasks with a minimum amount of direction.
- Desire to meet goals.
- Ethical and honest.
