- The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Resilient City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.- The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department (Engineering Operations) requires a regular full-time Supervisor, Operations - Sidewalks.**Responsibilities**
- In this leadership role, you will report to the Section Manager, Streets and be responsible for skilled supervisory work coordinating, directing and participating in the work of crews engaged in a variety of operations, maintenance and construction tasks in the Streets section. The work involves construction, repair and maintenance of the City’s sidewalks, road markings, signage, and other infrastructure. You will schedule, coordinate and supervise the work of the Sidewalk branch ensuring performance standards, specifications and safety procedures are met, as well as coordinate with external contractors and Agencies.- You will prepare cost and time estimates, monitor budget expenditures, and participate in the development of annual work schedules, oversee operating and capital budgets, and long range planning. In addition you will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, receive and resolve service requests, respond to the public and communicate to other departments, prepare and maintain records/reports, and order materials/equipment.**Requirements**:

- You will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by a diploma or trade (or other) qualifications in a field related to the work, and possess considerable related knowledge and experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity. A thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and materials, tools and equipment used in sidewalk maintenance and construction is required. The position requires strong leadership with a demonstrated ability to work in a team setting along with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft and Hansen/Infor Public Works, or similar Financial and Asset Management systems. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is also required.**Compensation**
- $48.22 per hour- (January 2024 rates)**Hours of Work**
- 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday**Additional Information**
