We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated **Heavy Duty Equipment Technician** to join our dynamic team.

As a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of equipment, including tractors, trailers and mobile cranes. Your expertise will help ensure the reliability and safety of our fleet, allowing our clients to carry out operations efficiently and safely.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Maintenance & Repair**: Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- **Troubleshooting**: Utilize diagnostic tools and expertise to identify issues and provide effective solutions.
- **Preventative Maintenance**: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- **Component Replacement**: Replace or repair defective parts to ensure proper functionality.
- **Documentation & Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on equipment. Complete service reports and document all work conducted.
- **Communication**: Communicate to provide updates on repairs, recommend improvements, and answer any technical questions.
- **Safety Compliance**: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty mechanic
- **Technical Skills**: Strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines. Familiarity with cranes is highly desirable.
- **Certification**: Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. Apprentices may be considered.
- **Problem-Solving Ability**: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy parts and working at heights.
- **Driving License**: A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- **Team Player**: Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with other team members.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with mobile cranes
- Knowledge of crane inspection requirements and safe operation protocols.
- Welding and fabrication skills are an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position may require working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites.
- Flexibility in work hours, with some overtime or weekends required depending on project deadlines and equipment demands.
- The role may involve occasional travel to remote locations or job sites.
