This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature, essential duties, and responsibilities of work performed by the incumbent of this position. It may not contain a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
**Overview**
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Inspect all heavy construction equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, and maintain proper performance
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized equipment and other testing to determine extent of repair required.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure that it meets manufacturers' specifications.
- Create and complete equipment work orders with detailed repair information in an accurate and timely manner
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Service and repair various attachments and working tools such as hydro axe, wrist buckets, and winches
- Perform repair and maintenance work on directional drills, semi-trucks, and trailers
- Attach components and make adjustments to new and used equipment
- Perform general shop duties; this may include sweeping the floors, cleaning equipment, and removing garbage
- Assist Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in heavy duty repairs and maintenance (construction equipment preferred)
- Possess a strong work ethic and be consistently punctual
- Willing and able to work longer days as required and travel out-of-town for extended periods of time
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate a strong initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew members (written and spoken English)
- Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple concurrent work orders
- Have a valid Class 5 license (a Class 3 with Airbrakes endorsement is an asset)
- Have basic computer skills
- Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites

Pay: $35.81-$48.11 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
