**The Role**

We are looking for a **PRODUCTION** **WORKER** whose main responsibilities are:
1) Assist in kitchen operations to produce our fresh, hand-made tempeh (if you don't know what it is, now is the time to Google it), which may involve:

- Processing beans and peas for fermentation
- Weighing and packing tempeh
- Poke and ferment tempeh
- Package and label final fermented product
- Cleaning tables and work surfaces
- Sweeping, mopping floors and dishwashing
- Removing garbage from containers
- Assisting other members in production duties as needed

2) Attend farmers markets, demos, and other events as needed

**Shifts**:
Mon, Wed, Frid: 7am to 3pm (temporary work hours for ~1-2 months)
Full-time positions are available in 1-2 months re-locating to Richmond.

**We expect applicants to be available during these times.**
- Be eager to learn and work pro-actively in a team
- Share our passion for food and support for the local food industry
- Be able to follow instructions and have attention to detail
- Work in a neat and orderly manner
- Be friendly and have a positive attitude

Additional overtime may be occur during busy seasons (spring and summer).

**Qualifications**:
**WE WILL ONLY CONSIDER STUDENT/WORKING VISA, PERMANENT RESIDENTS AND CANADIAN CITIZENS**
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- The ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Have a means of transportation to the facility
- 1-2 years of kitchen/production experience
- Food Safe Level 1 certification is an asset
- Class 5 Driver's License _(not necessary, but it's a plus if you can drive)_

**Work Environment**:

- Regularly stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during shifts
- Accommodate customers and engage with people at the farmers market / events

COVID-19 considerations:
Double COVID-19 vaccinations is required and masks are worn at ALL TIMES during production.

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- kitchen/foods related: 1 year (preferred)
- production: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
