CNC Machinist/set-up

Job Duties and Requirements:

- Set up and operate 3-4 axis CNC vertical milling machines to perform precision machining operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specification and drawing tolerances
- Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, and gauges to ensure high precision and tight accuracy of machined parts
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in good working condition
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet production goals by completing shop related duties
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area

~Requirements~
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
- Familiarity with G-code edits, CNC programming (Gibbs/Fusion) and operation (Okuma/Hermle) an asset
- Ability to operate milling machines, and other job shop manufacturing equipment safely is required
- Experience with Heidenheim with Faunc controls is a plus
- Knowledge of maintaining QMS and quality certifications, and lean manufacturing principles a plus
- Strong mathematical skills for performing basic calculations
- Experience with lathe operations is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software is a plus

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
