WHAT TO EXPECT

With quality at the heart of our concerns, the Laboratory Technician - Mechanical characterization of materials contributes to the implementation and development of new advanced testing methods in line with the organization's needs and priorities. He/she becomes the guardian of good practices in quality and in research and development.

**Here's an overview of your tasks**:
Prepare the equipment and instruments needed to carry out analyses or experiments, e.g. mechanical-dynamic analyzers (DMA).
Handle laboratory equipment requiring frequent fine-tuning, and calibrate as required
Prepare rubber samples for analysis
Perform R&D tests according to project requirements
Compile, acquire and process statistics and data, and interpret results using appropriate software.
Participate in the development of original analytical methods
Participate in the research, design and development of new processes or products
Produce reports and communicate results to the scientist (chemist, engineer or researcher) who will be responsible for interpreting them and establishing professional opinions on product quality, composition or toxicity.

With his adaptability, organizational skills and communication abilities, he ensures that he is able to perform quality work in a safe working environment.

College diploma in analytical laboratory technique or equivalent
Autonomy and initiative
Methodical, organized and detail-oriented
Excellent comprehension, analysis and problem-solving skills
Computer and database skills
Knowledge of material physics (an asset)

**Oral and written communication skills**: French and English
Knowledge of WHMIS, OHS and laboratory best practices (an asset)
