Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and IT, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in **INFR 1110U - Programming for Games II.**

**Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
The primary responsibility of the applicant is to (develop and) teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level within the parameters of the course description listed above. In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the Sessional Lecturer will deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments. The Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver and grade all course material and assignments and be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.

**Qualifications**:
**Note that this course will be delivered in-person **at Ontario Tech University’s North Campus in Oshawa, Ontario.**

**Required Education**:

- Masters or PhD/PhD (ABD) in Computer Science OR
- Masters or PhD/PhD (ABD) in Computer Engineering

**Required Skills**:

- Technical skills_
- Teaching skills_
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to respond to student enquiries and to grade assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- High level of comfort with interacting with students and colleagues using online modalities such as Google Meets and Kaltura.
- Ability to manage a course effectively using a Learning Management System.
- An ability to develop innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
- An ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural and diverse community.

**Required Experience**:
Academic or professional experience related to gaming is an asset; such experience can be demonstrated by any of the following:

- A degree or diploma in game design; OR
- Publications related to programming in the gaming context; OR
- Past experience teaching courses in a game design program; OR
- Professional experience in the gaming industry.

Priority will be given to an Internal Applicant who has taught any course for the University in three (3) different sessions in the past thirty-six (36) months, provided they meet the requirements for the position as outlined in the job posting.
