Reporting to the Dean and working in close collaboration with the BA EDST Program Director, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in BA EDST Program within the Mitch and Leslie Frazer Faculty of Education.

**Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
The primary responsibility of the applicant is to (develop and) teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level within the parameters of the course description listed above. In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the Sessional Lecturer will deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments. The Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver and grade all course material and assignments and be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.

**Required Skills**:

- A strong theoretical and practical background in using technology to support learning in K-12 and post-secondary environments
- Proven experience incorporating assistive technology to support learner needs, user experience, diversity and accessibility
- A high level of skill in designing and leading interactive, inclusive learning experiences in asynchronous and synchronous online environments, based on the social construction of knowledge
- Evidence of successful integration of theories of learning and assessment into course and project design
- Evidence of a well-grounded understanding of curricular and pedagogical design; educational research, and authentic assessment that integrates a variety of digital technologies
Evidence of flexible support for adult students in online learning, support that maintains academic standards
- Ability to support student learning with authentic assessment strategies in online learning environments
- Instructional practice that fosters reflection, critical thinking, creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and independence
- A proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies
- Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas
- Demonstrated ability to deliver classes remotely, using online modalities such as Zoom and Google Meets
- Proven experience managing large classes and diverse populations
- Experience coordinating and supervising Teaching Assistants as applicable
- Excellent organizational skills are needed to effectively manage course delivery, the marking of assignments and exams and the ability respond to student enquiries in a timely manner

**Education**:

- A Master’s degree in Education ora related field

**Experience**:

- Experience in proactively advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and learning
- Demonstrated experience in meaningfully and effectively integrating technology in an online learning environment, including synchronous, asynchronous, and blended modes

Priority will be given to an Internal Applicant who has taught any course for the University in three (3) different sessions in the past thirty-six (36) months, provided they meet the requirements for the position as outlined in the job posting.
