Asphalt Plant Foreperson

Fowler is actively seeking an Asphalt Plant Foreperson to supervise and ensure the operation of the asphalt plant, making certain that all job specifications are met, while never compromising the safety of themselves and other workers. This is a working foreperson role.

**Key Duties**:

- Organize production crew to ensure competitive production of asphalt material.
- Oversee operation of production facility.
- Organize and perform maintenance of production facility - daily, weekly and monthly.
- Purchase supplies to perform maintenance, as per approved limits.
- Enforce safety of crew and adhere to applicable safety and environmental laws.
- Report daily on production activities including time entry.
- Manage production and quality activities with internal quality control.
- Coordinate production schedule of plant to optimize plant and field crew efficiency.
- Ensure completion of all required inspections and reporting.
- Perform plant labour tasks as necessary.
- Inform supervisor of any deficiencies, areas of concern and/or any safety requirements.
- Provide training and development for new and/or inexperienced employees.

**Qualifications**:

- 2-5 years of experience working as a foreperson.
- Previous experience working at an asphalt plant.
- Must have a strong work ethic, ensuring commitment to the team and the company.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Must be able to work in a safe manner and be accountable to the team for safe work practices.
- Must be willing to perform labour as required.
- Ability to safely operate equipment.
- Familiar with asphalt plant operations and equipment.
- Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs, carry, bend, reach.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

**Work Conditions**:

- Travel to various sites may be required.
- Overtime will be necessary during peak production season.
- Indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
- Weekend and night work will be required occasionally.
