**THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CAMPBELL RIVER, VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC.**

Rivercity Inclusion Society is looking for part-time Community Support Workers for our Passages Program The Community Support Worker is responsible for introducing and implementing ideas and activities that allow the participants in the day programs to complete tasks independently and/or with mínimal support falling within each person's capabilities. The Community Support Worker is responsible for assisting the participants with their day to day life skills; that may include social, vocational, leisure, health, and fitness.

This position is a union position with the BCGEU under the Community Living Services Collective Agreement. Rate of pay is as per Collective Agreement at Grid Level 10.

**Positions available**:
Permanent Part-Time: 16 hours per week
Monday and Tuesday 9:00am - 1:00pm
Wednesday 10:00am - 2:00pm
Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm

Permanent Part-Time: 12 hours per week
Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am - 3:00pm

Temporary Part-Time: 17.5 hours per week
Tuesday 10:00am - 2:00pm
Wednesday and Thursday 9:45am - 2:00pm
Friday 9:30am - 2:30pm

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License _(Class 4 Driver's License will be required upon 90 days of hire)_
- First Aid and CPR
- Negative TB test results
- Criminal Record Check
- Food Safe Certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Must be willing to swim on a regular basis

**Upon successful recruitment and selection process we will discuss how to obtain these. Costs associated with pre-employment requirements will be reimbursed upon successful completion of probation period.**

**QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS**
- Human Services Worker Certification or certification in a relevant field.
- Three to six months prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Must display a proven ability to work with individuals calmly and effectively with complex support needs and behaviors.
- Must display enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to be flexible in adapting to a varied schedule.
