Work Schedule: Monday -Friday 8am - 4pm

Working with Multi-Barriered, Survivors of Violence and Indigenous people. The Wellness Navigator will set the tone for the clients’ experience with the Employment Readiness Program (ERP) of Kinghaven Peardonville House Society, outreach services for WorkBC Abbotsford and PBLMT community programming. The Wellness Navigator assesses and ensures that each client receives appropriate employment supports and services for the three specialized inclusion groups. They assist clients from their introduction to the program to the completion of their service planning. The Wellness Navigator is responsible for the delivery of competency-based employment focused, life management and the cycle of abuse topics, and case management. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Housing and Employment Services Manager.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Compiles, maintains, and ensures completion of all required documentation in electronic and physical case files, in accordance with the required standards
- Assesses client needs and determines appropriate actions to assist the client with reaching goals
- Provides and maintains the appropriate databases for tracking progress and statistics of each client which are then used for reports, to track milestones of post-treatment employment, and to provide specialized programming
- Creates content for and maintains social media platforms under the supervision of the ERP Manager
- Provides transportation to attend programming events within the community
- Facilitates career-focused group, individual and online discussions, workshops, assessments and surveys in accordance with established guidelines
- Determines eligibility for financial supports and services for clients wishing to access funded training
- Facilitates client access to the drop-in computer lab and provides support in navigating employment or labour related websites
- Advocates for and refers clients to career and community services within their home community, career opportunities and provides alumni check-in meetings, supporting career-related interventions and services
- Maintains contact with alumni to provide support and advocacy at set intervals
- Organizes and regulates special events including workshops, career fairs and hosting guest speakers by performing duties such as scheduling session times, booking facilities and acquiring materials
- Maintains correspondence with parole officers regarding CSC clients as needed
- Provides services post-treatment that target areas such as gaining work experience, training, skill enhancement, self-employment opportunities, and job search support
- Performs other related duties as required

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Proven ability to successfully work with and support individuals from a broad range of cultural backgrounds based on a sensitivity to and understanding of the unique challenges they may face
- Strong administrative skills and computer proficiency with specific emphasis on MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and customized databases, ICM (Integrated Case Management) & Client Connect
- Capacity to effectively conduct and interpret Client needs assessments and employ exploration tools for all Client Inclusion Groups, in accordance with individualized Client needs and abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of Life/Essential Skills Training
- Demonstrated experience providing services and support to individuals with complex barriers, including barrier identification and resolution
- Experience in, and the ability to, successfully coach and mentor Clients to gain effective job search tools and strategies
- Ability to build and maintain a network of partnerships with local employment and community agencies, employers, social service & referral programs, and other relevant stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the Transtheoretical Model of Change Readiness
- Proven experience and success in the areas of job maintenance and the ability to build productive and ongoing employer relationships that are of benefit to the success of the Client.
- Extensive knowledge of job search and networking strategies
- Working knowledge of current employment issues, life/employability skills, the current landscape of local labour markets, trades and apprenticeships, harm reduction and trauma informed practice of care
- Thorough understanding of Canadian standard guidelines for career development practitioners
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Experienced in adult learning theory, motivational interviewing
- Experience in facilitating learning principles specific to First Peoples Principles of Learning
