Child Abuse Investigator

**Summary**:
This position is responsible for overseeing all investigations of reported child maltreatment within the agency’s jurisdictional boundaries and providing interventions and direction as required. Work in conjunction with law enforcement, medical personnel, child abuse committee and other collaterals.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Social Work Degree preferred; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with child abuse investigations is preferred.
- Travel is required to complete job duties.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and fully insured vehicle with $2,000,000.00 liability insurance.
- Ability to work late when required.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)**:

- Reviews and follows up on all reports of alleged abuse, and completes thorough abuse investigations according to legislation, regulations, standards and agency policy.
- Provides consultation to other agency staff in regard to abuse matters.
- Ensures culturally appropriate services are provided.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to develop working relationships with challenging clients.
- Completes global and forensic interviews when appropriate.
- Uses the Structured Decision Making (SDM) tools as appropriate.
- Completes safety planning as necessary throughout the investigation.
- Strong computer skills with experience working with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience and ability using the Intake Module (IM) and CFSIS.
- Opens an intake for every new report of abuse and documents all aspects of the investigation in the IM and readies for conclusion when appropriate

**Salary**: $59,198.00-$82,121.00 per year
