As a Project Controller, you will join our Guelph or Oakville offices (hybrid-remote opportunities available) as part of our Alternative Delivery Service and other teams in Eastern Canada as needed. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Support Project Managers on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, including rail, highway, and municipal infrastructure projects across Ontario- Maintain and manage project tracking documents, costs, and subcontracts- Preparation of cost budgets for fixed-fee projects- Communicate budgets and progress tracking data to project managers and technical staff regularly- Preparation of work orders for subcontractors and vendors- Track client document requirements such as insurance documents and Health and Safety training documents for staff- Coordinate contract reviews with Montrose Contracts team and Service Directors/Project Managers- Support preparation of invoices and backup documentation tasks- Build relationships with the team- Actively participate in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture, prioritizing health & safety.- Flexible availability for extra hours/overtime to support team goals and ensure project success

What We Are Looking For- Possess excellent organizational, file, and time management skills to effectively meet multiple deadlines.- Possess advanced-level skills in Microsoft Word and intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel- Exceptional attention to detail following company standards and pride in producing quality work- Previous experience in a consulting engineering, construction, or professional services firm is considered an asset.- Working experience preparing cost estimates or supporting bids- Experience with billing management software for engineering or other professional firms is considered an asset.- Knowledge of Visio or MS Project would be considered an asset- Previous experience in an office environment and interest in hybrid-remote opportunities- Demonstrates the energy and enthusiasm to support others and adapt to the evolving needs of a dynamic environment- Full or part-time role with 3-5 days per week on a consistent weekly schedule
