**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Installation: Installing new chiller systems according to engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelines. This involves assembling components, connecting piping, wiring electrical controls, and ensuring proper insulation and safety measures.
- Maintenance: Performing routine preventive maintenance tasks to keep chiller systems operating efficiently and reliably. This includes inspecting components, cleaning heat exchangers, lubricating moving parts, checking refrigerant levels, and calibrating controls.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with chiller systems when they malfunction or fail to operate correctly. This involves conducting thorough inspections, using diagnostic tools, and analyzing system performance data to identify the root cause of problems.
- Repairs: Repairing or replacing faulty components to restore the functionality of chiller systems. This may include repairing or replacing compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, pumps, motors, sensors, and controls.
- Refrigerant Handling: Handling refrigerants safely and responsibly, following environmental regulations and industry best practices. This includes recovering, recycling, or reclaiming refrigerants during maintenance or repair activities, as well as conducting leak detection and repair to prevent environmental damage.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment specifications, and refrigerant usage. This helps track the history of equipment, identify recurring issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by responding promptly to service calls, communicating effectively with clients, and addressing their concerns. Explaining technical concepts and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner.
- Continuing Education: Staying updated on new technologies, equipment, and industry trends through training programs, workshops, and certifications. Continuously improving skills and knowledge to adapt to evolving chiller systems and emerging best practices in refrigeration technology.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards. Following safety guidelines for working with refrigerants, electrical systems, and heavy machinery.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to coordinate installation projects, share knowledge and expertise, and ensure successful outcomes for complex tasks or projects.

**Required Skills**:

- Technical Knowledge: _A strong understanding of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and heat transfer mechanisms is essential. Technicians should be familiar with chiller system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, pumps, motors, sensors, and controls._
- Mechanical Skills: _Proficiency in working with mechanical systems, including assembling, disassembling, and repairing components. Technicians should be able to use hand and power tools effectively and perform tasks such as brazing, soldering, welding, and machining._
- Electrical Skills: _Understanding of electrical systems and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair electrical issues in chiller systems. Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and procedures is essential when working with electrical components._
- Troubleshooting Abilities: _Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with chiller systems and identify the root cause of malfunctions. Technicians should be able to use diagnostic tools, analyze system performance data, and develop effective solutions to complex problems._
- Refrigerant Handling: _Knowledge of refrigerant types, properties, and handling procedures is crucial. Technicians should be familiar with environmental regulations and industry best practices for handling, recovering, recycling, and reclaiming refrigerants safely._
- Safety Awareness: _Commitment to safety practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards. Technicians should follow safety guidelines for working with refrigerants, electrical systems, and heavy machinery and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required._
