**Job Summary**:
The EHS Manager is a “hands-on” individual who provides expertise and program development in the areas of regulatory compliance, occupational health & safety, environmental and process safety management as well as industrial hygiene. This position will work in conjunction with local facility personnel as well as Corporate EHS to implement processes and programs to continually improve the site’s EHS performance.
**Environmental programs**: 35%
Implementation of measures that meet the intent of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and Pollution Prevention, hazardous/ non-hazardous waste management ensuring waste is handled/disposed of within all British Columbia Ministry of Environment regulatory requirements; assisting with the operation of the wastewater facility including the sampling and reporting of results to Metro Vancouver; air quality management including coordinating emission testing and completion of Metro Vancouver required annual and quarterly reporting; National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) reporting; development/implementation of Environmental Emergency Plans pursuant to Environment Canada requirements; ensures that the requirements of Spill Control and Drainage Systems/Secondary Containment for Aboveground Storage Tanks are being met; and acts as the diplomatic liaison between the facility and the various external EHS regulatory agencies.
**Occupational Health and Safety programs**: 35%
Development, implementation, and continual improvement of critical life safety as well as other health & safety compliance programs, policies, and procedures (Health Canada, Polynt-Reichhold and Fire Department); develop and implement the facility’s process safety management program (based off of Canadian CSA Z767-2017 and United States OSHA PSM requirements); responsible for employee safety training and certification as required; and participates on the facility’s safety committee.
**Risk Assessment and Reduction**: 30%
Implement, maintain, and continuously improve occupational safety through conducting risk assessments, inspections, job safety analysis, etc.; facilitates incident investigations and track investigation action items to closure; and takes a “hands-on” approach to serve as a “champion” providing leadership to improve the facility’s EHS performance
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Environmental or equivalent required.
- Health Canada, Metro Vancouver, BC Ministry of the Environmental and Environment Canada regulation knowledge is essential.
- Process safety regulation awareness is also desired, but, not necessary.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; MS Office and Outlook required; SAP is a plus.
- Two or more years of chemical industry and safety experience preferred.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools. Frontline Data Solutions MOC knowledge is a plus.

**Salary**: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
