**Role Responsibilities**:
As the paralegal for the Civil Forfeiture Office, you will manage substantive and procedural legal work, including administrative responsibilities for assigned files to assist with ensuring compliance with common law principles, legislation, and regulations.

Job duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Reviewing police referrals (investigative file), determine completeness, identify issues, and prepare file summary for lawyer.
- Managing and organizing files and voluminous records.
- Liaising with police, Crown prosecutors, and Lawyers handling civil forfeiture cases regarding referrals, file status.
- Use tools such as Outlook; Microsoft Word; JOIN; and other databases to carry out responsibilities.
- Any other paralegal duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
A two-year diploma in a related field plus three years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described.

The following are considered preferences for this position:

- Two (2) or more years of paralegal experience with the Alberta (or any provincial) Crown Prosecution Service, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, or a criminal law firm.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing police investigative file materials.
- Experience working alongside other Paralegals.

Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
