Specific duties: Perform short term counselling and crisis intervention for high school students as neededProvide programming to educate students regarding well-being issuesConsult with teachers and explore possible strategies and solutions for the concerns that arise to support studentsMaintain confidential records of interactions with studentsGuidance for teachers in identifying students who may require additional support and interventionIdentify areas of concern with students and develop strategies to improve the interactions between studentsTo implement restorative justice procedures following discipline incidentsTo meet regularly with the counselling team and school base teamTo act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet individual needsTo act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet group or grade level needsTo facilitate communication with parents from the integrated support team to offer consistent and coordinated advice in supporting their childrenQualifications: A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or a related field.Previous experience working with youth in educational, counselling, or social service settings is preferred.
