As a **Casual Child and Youth Care Worker (On-Call) **for our therapeutic programs in the Lower Mainland, you will have the opportunity to be a part of our team that provides support, care, and mentorship to at-risk youth with mental health challenges and/or substance use. A variety of shifts are available, allowing you to work around school, family, or other obligations. Shift times are generally 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am (awake overnight), and 24-hour shifts from 10am-10am.

Locations include: Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and Surrey.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to meet our **Relief/Casual Team Guidelines and Expectations** which includes providing at least 2 shifts of availability on the weekends, availability on holidays, and for on-call shifts
- High school diploma
- Experience working with at-risk youth with mental health issues and/or substance use (or desire to learn)
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check (takes up to 6 weeks to process so please plan accordingly)
- Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record

**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:

- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Building positive working relationships with the youth, their families, community members, and other professionals (e.g. social workers, probation officers)
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Driving youth to and from appointments, school, outings, etc. as needed
- Performing youth outreach as needed
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
- Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and youth care plans
- Driving clients to and from school, appointments, outings, etc.
- Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication

**Salary**: $22.70-$23.25/hour + 4% vacation pay on each pay cheque
