Tomlinson is currently seeking a Cost Control Analyst to provide cost analysis for various construction projects within the Tomlinson Infrastructure team. Working with data provided by both the field and estimation, the Cost Control Analysis provides data on how the project team is doing compared to the project plan. This position has an impact on the ongoing process and performance improvement initiatives within the division.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Primary:

- Assess and analyze project productions and job-based costing.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis of project health (earned value, unit cost etc.)
- Work with project management and estimation to create and maintain detailed work break down structures.
- Analyze trends in WBS costing.
- Review completed project performance and document and track results.
- Train project management staff in understanding costing concepts and use of various costing tools and software (SAP).

Secondary:

- Review detailed transactional costing of projects with PM staff.
- Review and analyze purchasing data for projects.
- Support project management team with change management.
- Support estimation department with historical data of WBS based costing.
- Support estimation with creation of detailed cost budgets.
- Provide support to divisional management in month end financial reviews.
- Work with divisional management and accounting groups on creation and support of business processes.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience with accounting ERP software preferably SAP
- Advanced level of skill with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of cost engineering concepts (earned value, estimation, cost analysis etc.)
- Understanding of project scheduling techniques and applicable software such as P6 or MS Project
- Experience with estimation software considered an asset such as Hard Dollar or TPL
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts would be an asset.
- Construction experience preferred as a Project Coordinator, Surveyor, Project Manager
- Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Engineering preferred or equivalent additional experience
- AACE designations are considered strong assets
