Reporting directly to the CEO, the Corporate Legal Counsel will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of HomeLife’s Legal Department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in regular meetings with the CEO and departmental meetings
- Update Franchise Disclosure Documents in collaboration with HomeLife’s external legal counsel
- Update Franchise Agreements, Employment Agreements, and a variety of other corporate and commercial agreements
- Draft Business Proposals
- Collaborate with HomeLife’s external legal counsel on Intellectual Property, Franchising, Labour Employment, and Litigation matters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, IT and Global Business Development
- Remain current with all relevant changes to the law

**Requirements And Skills**:

- Licensed Lawyer in Good Standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- 3+ years of legal experience in private practice, at a full-service law firm, or in-house at a well-established company
- JD or LL. B from an accredited university; called to practice in Ontario
- Self-Starter, Team Player and a Leader
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
- Practice experience in Franchise Law would be a significant asset
- Familiar with, or become familiar with, Ontario’s Arthur Wishart Act
- Familiar with Business Law, Labour Employment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Leasing and Civil Litigation is an asset
- Entrepreneurial-minded with experience in Mergers, Acquisitions, and Finance; deal-making is an asset
- Demonstrate professionalism and self-awareness in all aspects of your duties
- Strong legal drafting skills
- Work on-site Monday to Friday, 9:00 am
- 5:30 pm

**Start Date**: Immediately

**Location**:3500 Dufferin Street, Toronto (across from Yorkdale Mall). Free Parking is available on-site.

**Job Type**:Permanent, Full-time

**Compensation**:$90,000+; Salary commensurate with Franchise Law and/or M&A experience
