**Role Purpose**
The TIFL Supervision Specialist is responsible for conducting daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reviews in accordance with MFDA Rules and other regulatory and company requirements within our fast paced Compliance Department. The Compliance Department is responsible for the execution and delivery of the Mutual Fund Dealers’ compliance program which fosters and encourages a culture of compliance across the organization and supports the vision and culture of the Firm. This is achieved through the development, refinement, documentation, implementation, monitoring and testing of compliance policies and procedures, training, education, internal controls and reporting Review daily, monthly, quarterly and annual sales activity.
The TIFL Supervision Specialist may act as an Alternate Branch Manager, provided respective proficiency requirements are satisfied. The TIFL Supervision Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Compliance.
- Keep abreast of changes to regulation or legislation as well as industry trends.
- Assist in the development, refinement, documentation, implementation, monitoring and testing of compliance policies, procedures and internal controls in support of teaching and deliver our Compliance Program.
- Monitors data exceptions and errors, recommending thoughtful and practical solutions.
- Provides investment staff with details regarding compliance requirements, including legislative and business practices.
- Preparing formal and informal compliance reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Update and maintain Mutual Funds Compliance and Complaint logs.
- Monitor compliance to policies and procedures and report trends, patterns and infractions to the Compliance Manager.
- Assist with the implementation and tracking of compliance and sales programs.
- Assist with collateral review of marketing material.
- Support Investments with accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
- Act as backup and perform delegated duties as required.
- Assist in Compliance wide projects as assigned.
- Assist in preparing responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- University or College Degree
- Minimum 3 years of Mutual Funds experience preferably with a Mutual Fund Dealer, one of which should be related to compliance
- Completion of Canadian Securities Course, Canadian Investment Funds Course or the Investment Funds in Canada course is essential
- Knowledge of back office systems such as Univeris, RPM and Dataphile
- Familiarity with FundServe
- In depth knowledge of the Mutual Fund industry, capital markets and regulatory requirements
- French language skills are required.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
- Ability to perform day-to-day tasks in French is a definite asset
- Attention to detail
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
