**Job Purpose**:
The Data Center Facility Administration and Technical Assistant helps to oversee critical IT infrastructure in the OnX Canada owned data center in Truro.

**Essential Functions**:

- Daily facility monitoring, Monday-Friday with a coordinated on-call component for after hours.
- Maintaining building access and sign in procedures.
- Receiving and shipping, escorting and assisting with venter access to the facility.
- Accountable for the upkeep of the physical infrastructure components that make up the physical layer of the OnX data center.
- Assist in maintaining current building automation and DCIM systems for the OnX data center.
- Operate, monitor, maintain and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, building monitoring and control systems.
- First level of contact during IT facilities issues but will report to the Critical IT Specialist if an escalation is required; will coordinate escalation with Sr. Management as necessary.
- Work with and assist with Compliance team to conduct regular IT facilities audits to ensure physical security, life safety and environmental conditions are maintained at optimal operating levels. Work with Compliance team to ensure data center certifications like Uptime Tier III, SOC1 - SOC2, CSAE 3416, SSAE18
- PCI are maintained.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and operations personnel to implement short and long term strategic plans to ensure cost containment and consumption.
- Work with PMs on planned physical IT equipment changes like network, storage, compute upgrades and decommissioning.

**Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Experienced in DC design, build-out - migration, infrastructure implementation, DC operations, capacity planning and vendor/partner management.
- Experience with inventory management software packages.
- Experience with data center cabling would be an asset.
- Development of documentation that is clear and concise, with technical background or training.
- Experience with building administration, security administration and network management.
- Knowledge of requirements analysis/process flow design.

**Supervisory Responsibility**:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
