**Position Summary**
Working within Seabird College, the Vice Principal assists the Principal in the administration, leadership, supervision and operation of College. The Vice Principal provides quality curriculum in a learning environment that promotes language and reinforces the personal values of self-reliance, generosity, honesty, adaptability, and respect for self, others and the environment. The Vice Principal must fulfill their responsibilities with high ethical and moral standards and service as a positive role model for staff and students.
You will be a member of an interdisciplinary, collaborative team, liaising with other professionals, students, family members, and community to provide students with holistic, culturally focused education. Be part of a team where you can positively influence a student’s educational journey and see the difference you can make in a community as you teach the diverse student body of Seabird College. The position requires a close relationship with Lalme’ Iwesawtexw and those in neighboring communities, as well as with employment services and other band administration.
**Role**: The Seabird College Vice Principal (Admin) role will focus on applicable post-secondary education and training for Seabird Island Band members and beyond, while meeting funding requirements and seeking new funding for future program needs. As well as provide accessible training programs that speak to today’s labor market, and to bridge graduates into the labor market with employment ready skills. This entails an organizational and development skillset, with program and partnership development, and proven budgeting skills.

**What you’ll do**
**Management and leadership**
- Provide overall leadership to the Seabird College division, including management of direct reports:
- Work planning, scheduling, payroll processing, and assessment of staffing needs.
- Employee management: hiring/promotion, staff development, coaching/mentoring, and performance management. including but not limited to, conflict resolution, discipline, and termination recommendations.
- Authorizing leaves of absence.
- ensure that all staff within the applicable programs have the appropriate training, credentials, oath of confidentiality, criminal record checks, and other documentation as required by SIB or relevant licensing bodies;
- Evaluating the program to ensure appropriate quality and effective use of resources; and
- Promote shared team goals and collaboration among members.
- Monitor overall performance of Seabird College against the business plan and budget, including authorization of expenditures.
