Scw’exmx Child and Family Services Society (SCFSS) is seeking a passionate and culturally aware Community Services Team Leader to join our team in beautiful Merritt, BC. As a family centered Indigenous organization, we’re guided by nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional knowledge and principles. **Position Summary**

As a Community Services Team Leader at SCFSS, you’ll be at the forefront of our Strategic Director of creating a Culture of Care. Community Services Team Leader promotes and improves employee retention through targeted professional and capacity development, along with other strategies that foster a sense of belonging through leadership training and team building.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, plan, develop and oversee SCFSS’s Community Services Program.
- Integrate the nłeʔkepmx Framework of Practice and the syilx Child and Family Plan to enhance support services for children, youth and families.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps and collaborate with the community planning team to develop strategic plans and priorities that address the needs of families and communities.
- Incorporate nłeʔkepmx and syilx ways of knowing into all aspects of programming, community interaction, and planning, to preserve family and cultural practices through the support of Resident Elders.
- Facilitate the integration of SCFSS’s Culture and Language Program within communities to strengthen connections to culture and language, guided by an Elderinformed decision-making framework.
- Support the education of communities and designated band representatives on community prevention strategies and the long-term reform of First Nations Child and Family Services.
- Assist the five member communities in planning prevention programs and support the development of workplans and budgets in alignment with community prevention objectives.
- Manage Community Services Program training, education and mentoring with communities and regular communication with community members to foster strong relationships across all six communities.
- Exercise supervision over six Community Prevention Workers and one Event Coordinator.
- Receive regular consultation and review with the Community Manager including an Annual Performance Evaluation and Personal and Team Work Plan review.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Harm Reduction or a related field. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
- At least two years of experience in a social service environment.
- A minimum of two years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and professional and personal practice of nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional values, cultural practice, and protocols is an asset

**Work Details**
- Full-time, permanent position (35 hours/week)
- Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Located in Merritt, BC - gateway to the beautiful
