Woodworker (Furniture Repair)

Advance Furniture Distribution is the warehouse for the Atrium, Atlantic Canada's largest furniture shopping centre, and home of Gallery 1 Furniture, Ashley Furniture, and Worldwide Furniture.
Advance Furniture Distribution is currently seeking a full-time **Woodworker (Furniture Repair) **to join our service team, to handle furniture repairs in the warehouse and customer homes.

**Responsibilities**:
- Assessing damages and choosing the appropriate method of repair
- Application of techniques such as: use of fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs, and installation of replacement parts;
- Performing wood color matching & blending;
- Performing wood repairs including burn-ins & wood graining;
- Performing upholstery repairs;
- Working closely with Customer Service Representatives to order parts and ensure credits are applied.
- Traveling to customer locations to perform repairs as needed
**Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Carpentry/woodworking experience;
- Previous experience in furniture repair, cabinetry and millwork is considered a strong asset;
- Previous experience in leather and vinyl repair is an asset;
- Experience in upholstery repair an asset.
**Required Knowledge and Skills**:
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Knowledge in finished wood, veneers and press-board;
- Knowledge of upholstery repairs a strong asset;
- General knowledge of furniture construction an asset;
- Superior customer-relations skills;
- Proven initiative; a self-starter.
- Dependable, hard-working
**Additional Information**:
- Criminal background check is required
- Some heavy lifting may be required
- Driver's license is required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
