**Smith Trucking Service Ltd**., is a Road Construction, Maintenance, Reclamation, and Trucking company operating in Southern Alberta area for over 45 years. **We are looking for experienced, professional heavy equipment operators (Excavator/Dozer/Rock Truck/Loader) to join our team for a project just North of Bassano.**We are looking for high end operators, if that sounds like you, we want to meet with you ASAP.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment including routine cleaning to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
- Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks from the site Foreman/Manager.
- Vast understanding of working within a large scale reclamation/construction site.
- Ensure equipment is being operated properly to ensure safe working conditions.
- Operate heavy equipment and other construction related duties as requested and required by the site Foreman/Manager.

**REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE**
- Valid Drivers License - minimum Class 5 or higher.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, including proper maintenance and safety procedures.
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding of how to operate equipment including proper maintenance procedures.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 kg on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, rain, wind, snow, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust.
- Willing to complete on site requirements, as required/requested by the site Foreman/Manager.

Schedule:

- 6-7 days per week, 10-12 hour shifts per day
- Project will be completed by the end of the year

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator/Dozer/Rock Truck) in large scale construction, underground, or reclamation projects. We are not looking for entry level operators. You must have proven experience, have a good attitude, and be reliable to work on our team with this project.

Pay: $30.00-$37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 72 - 84 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bassano, AB (15 kms North): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Heavy Equipment Operator: 5 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Class 5 or higher Driver's License (required)

Pay: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
