**The Position**

Responsible to set up and machine welded components to customer specifications. Select appropriate tooling to complete task in a timely manner. Able to use a variety of measuring equipment to assure tolerances are held.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Set up and machine weldments to drawing specifications
- Select appropriate toolings for job requirements.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
- Program PLC’s
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
- Communicate and assist co-workers, operators, supervisors, and leadhands when required.
- Maintain and secure work tools.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & safety Regulations and Organizational Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Follow all lock out procedures when doing repairs, and adjustments.
- Completion of ITP paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**You Skills Set**
- Grade twelve education or equivalent, with basic reading, writing, and some advanced mathematic skills
- Advanced Skills (Journeyman level) required in one or more of the following areas:

- PLC programming (able to create and edit programs to machine components to customer specifications)
- CNC experience
- Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints.
- Experience using one or more of the following tools: Lathe, grinder, milling machine, drill press, and vertical / horizontal cut off saw.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of cranes, forklift trucks, and various lifting devices and equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift materials up to 30 pounds is required / WHMIS training.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
**Physical Effort**.
- Repetitive use of: hands/fingers/arms. Bending, crouching, lifting, standing. Lifting up to 25 lbs.

**Physical Environment**:

- Industrial Environment, Dust, moderate noise, machining oils/grease/degreasers, vapours, weld fumes.

**Sensory Attention**:

- Constant Safety awareness of machinery and equipment being used and machine processes being used in the surrounding work environment.
- Attention to precision schematics and measurements

**Mental Stress**:

- Concentration, and attention to detail, stress relating to deadlines / timelines
