Vehicle Technology Specialist

Pride Group Logistics is a dynamic and rapidly growing transportation and logistics company. We are an asset-based company with a growing 3PL/Brokerage division.

This is a full-time position. **The location is to be set in Ontario.**

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Omnitracs, Intelligent Vehicle Gateway for all Fleets under the Pride Group Banner.
- _Sourcing: _ Ordering / controlling stock at Office and 2 service vehicles.
- _Installations: _ Assembling installation kits for road technicians (IVG/Camera paired units)
- _Removals: _ Format, refresh and test used units for reinstallation
- _Diagnostics: _ Tech support for technicians and drivers
- _Repairs: _ Physical repair of IVG units
- Critical Event Dash Cameras
- _Sourcing: _ Ordering & controlling stock at Office and 2 service vehicles.
- _Installations / Removals: _
- Assembling installation kits for road technicians (IVG/Camera paired units)
- Testing & prepping new and used cameras for use/reuse.
- _Format, refresh, and test used units for reinstallation_
- _Repairs: Contacting operators and scheduling for repair at remote locations, shops, etc._
- _Diagnostics: _
- Identifying failures, out-of-alignment, and unpaired cameras from IVG
- Recovering video for analysis
- Cataloging uninstalled video files
- E-Solutions /Orbcomm.
- _Sourcing: _ Ordering and maintaining stock.
- _Installations: _ Set-up,upgrading firmware of Reefers & Commissioning.
- _Removals: _ De-commissioning or complete removal.
- _Diagnostics: _ Identification of Reefer unit faults.
- Reefer Downloads. T_his includes diagnostics and repair._
- Extraction of over-the-air downloads.
- Manual downloads, locating Reefer, cooperating with Operations, etc.
- Travelling to the Reefers location for physical download.
- Transfer of files needing decryption.
- Seeks approvals for downloads prior to presenting the details to the client.
- Road Service Vans: Maintain all aspects of the servicing functions and retrofit vans to suit PGL’s VT needs.
- Ordering and Managing Stock for unexpected upcoming tasks.
- SIM cards (POD) / CEV Cameras.
- Product warranty management & returns.
- Omnitracs IVG units for fleets under the Pride Group banner.
- Fabrication of “in-house” engineered electronics.
- Plug-and-play wiring harnesses
- Solar Panels / Solar controllers.
- Black box GPS units.
- Maintain a functional equipment setup lab.
- Manage and oversee a team of road service technicians, including shop technicians.
- Monitor attendance.
- Provide support & knowledge as required daily.
- Preservation of morale and continued learning through engagement.
- Safety equipment.
- Parts ordering via multiple supplier channels.
- Pre-plan your team with a day’s notice outlining the location and task by means of equal distribution of workload.
- Mechanical Shop.
- Assist and mentor shop techs with technical issues such as:

- Diagnostic tool issues.
- On-Vehicle diagnostics and parameter programming.
- Assist with scheduling equipment for repair.
- Fleet air conditioning reports / ESPAR / Webasto heater maintenance and repair.
- Power inverter installations and repair
- Tractor and Trailer
- _Electrical diagnostics: _
- ABS / Lighting / Engine management / Emission Controls / Avoidance systems and body controls.
- Schedule tractors with outside service centers and communicate detailed information for quick turnaround.
- Trailer tracking modules.
- Locate and schedule installations & removals
- Configuration of tracking system failures.
- Proactive engineering of GPS systems to ensure excellent functionality.
- Engage with Health & Safety committee.
- Confirm and approve billing for Account Payables.
- Daily Yard Checks.
- VCMS system issues
- General building issues: Roof, A/C, Heat, water leaks, plumbing, lighting, ventilation, pressure washer, compressor, automatic vehicle soap dispenser. Including but not limited to
- Yard Snow Removal
- Ice melting
- Lawn maintenance
- Wash bay cleanliness
- Shop cleanliness
- Floor drain maintenance

**Required Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Of the roles and responsibilities, there are physical demands that must be met for successful performance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Maintain communication with engaged team members.

**Job Type**: Full-time

**Salary (according to experience)**: Based on experience.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
