We are currently looking to hire a Mechanical Integrity Analyst to join our team. The Mechanical Integrity Analyst will be working on structural and thermo mechanical integrity problems, including, but not limited to, static and dynamic stress, fatigue and fracture mechanics, creep and creep fatigue interaction. This position also requires interaction with other departments such as materials, manufacturing and design. The position will mainly focus on the development of gas turbines, but other industrial sectors will also be supported as the company expands.

This person will be hired as a full-time consultant with Actalent at the Montreal engineering center. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Performs thermal, structural, creep and fatigue analyses on gas turbine components.
- Linear and nonlinear (material, deformation and contact) analyses using implicit FEA
- Reports and presents the results, provides recommendations and design improvement suggestions
- Interacts with other engineering disciplines, and with the client
- Supports the Group or Project Manager with project estimations, information about budget consumption and provides project status updates
- Participates in peer reviews, provides technical support to other team members
- Writes relevant documentation (i.e. design briefs, data releases, engineering reports, validation reports, risk reports)
- Chair internal design reviews

**Education and Experience Requirements**:
**Required**:

- Gas turbine design, analysis, and development (or other related industry);
- Sound understanding of linear and non-linear material behavior, heat transfer knowledge;
- Familiar with fatigue/creep life assessments;
- Sound knowledge of finite element analysis, thermal and stress analysis tools;
- Familiar with Siemens NX Advanced Simulation and Design modules (or related tools);

**Desired**:

- Experience from industrial sectors (aerospace, automotive, defense, oil & gas, etc.)
- Experience with explicit FEA
- Knowledge of other commercial FEA packages than what already mentioned above, e.g. Hyperworks, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Nastran etc.
- Knowledge of programming languages, e.g. Python, Matlab, PowerShell/shell, VBA script (used for postprocessing and automation)
- Member of an Engineering association or eligible to become a member
