Rooted in our mission, "_Building rewarding lives for people with exceptionalities",_ we are committed to responsible stewardship, transparency, and person-centred service. **Position Overview** BRSI is seeking an experienced **Bookkeeper** to oversee the organization’s financial operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and accountability across all funds. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting informed decision-making. **Core Duties** - Maintain day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and internal fund transfers - Prepare regular financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and year-end) for leadership review - Track program and house-level expenditures and support managers with budget monitoring and variance explanations - Manage and reconcile client trust accounts in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements - Complete payroll-related remittances and statutory filings - Assist with annual budgeting, audit preparation, and year-end reporting - Monitor operating, reserve, and restricted funds to ensure appropriate usage and approvals - Provide financial information to the Board of Directors as requested - Review existing financial processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency **Qualifications & Experience** - Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience) - Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; non-profit or public-sector experience is strongly preferred - Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft 365 - Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data and produce accurate reports - Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage competing deadlines - Strong attention to detail, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information - Clear and professional communication skills when working with leadership, staff, and external stakeholders **Additional Requirements** - Valid Saskatchewan driver’s licence - Successful Criminal Record Check - Availability for occasional time-sensitive financial matters **Why Work With BRSI** - Contribute to meaningful work that positively impacts individuals and families in our community - Join a collaborative, values-driven organization with a strong focus on accountability and care - Competitive part-time compensation and benefits, including pension and health coverage - A role with purpose, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real difference **How to Apply** Please submit your resume and cover letter (PDF format) to: **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 per week **Benefits**: - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Flexible schedule - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - Vision care Work Location: In person
