**Qualifications**:

- Experienced Licensed Carpenter with a Certificate of Qualification
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in all aspects of general carpentry
- Demonstrated teaching ability and knowledge of adult learning success strategies
- A good understanding of the needs of Indigenous learners is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies
- Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary setting is an asset
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver training for the General Carpenter Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Women as per General Carpenter Apprenticeship covering curriculum for General Carpenter 403A Level 1 for the following courses: Estimating, Calculation and Layout I (Lvl 1) and/or Plans, Specifications & Codes (Lvl 1)
- Develop lessons and assessments for delivery of the learning outcomes provided, in both classroom and shop setting
- Work closely with the Project Lead, lab technologists, First Peoples’ Centre, trades area and staff in all aspects as it pertains to student success
- Work closely with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
- Perform all responsibilities associated with the learning environment including preparation, delivery and evaluation of theory and practical learning activities and evaluation
