- Position Summary:_

Responsible for implementation and development of policies and processes related to customs regulations for all Limson imports in the United States and Canada. Supports internal teams, customs brokers, and other stakeholders in the process of importing goods in NA. Acts as a liaison between the US and Canadian Governmental Agencies (FDA, USDA, NOAA, CFIA, ECCC, etc.) and Limson’s business units and functional teams for regulatory requirements on sourcing, vendor and individual item level.

- Essential Functions:_- Develops and maintains procedures for the importation of Limson products in Canada and the US.- Provides customs assessment of all items offered for import by Limson NA.- Works closely with QA, Vendor Compliance and Sourcing team to ensure accurate data reporting for regulation enforced by non-Customs Governmental Agencies.- Supports the organization with special projects related to global import and export activities.- Supports customs compliance projects such as compliance verifications, self corrections, and refund claims.- Provides consultation and advice to management regarding areas of risk.- Develops and maintains a database of import permits, licenses, for both Canada and the US.- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:_- Minimum 5 years’ experience in NA customs compliance, preference for experience with a multinational firm.- Extensive knowledge of Canada & U.S. customs fundamentals - classification, country of origin, valuation, and free trade agreements.- Experience with NA imports of seafood, protein and other food categories.- Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.- Results oriented with strong determination to succeed.- Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and desire for personal and professional growth.
- Education:_- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field- 5+ years of recent customs industry-related experience, including a minimum of 2 years classification experience (preferably US and Canada).- In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
