**Job description**

The award winning Oswego Hotel is looking for a part-time Host/Food Runner for the Aegir Room Restaurant. We are a busy, high volume restaurant located in beautiful James Bay and we are looking to hire someone who can handle a fast paced environment and be able to work with with a small team.

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Host/Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their meals promptly and with exceptional service. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.

**Duties**
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area efficiently and accurately.
- Greet the guests as they arrive and show then to their table.
- Take reservations
- Ensure that all orders are correct before serving to guests, maintaining high standards of quality.
- Assist servers in managing guest needs, including refilling drinks and providing additional items as requested.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and address any issues that may arise.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing tables after guests leave.
- Support the overall guest experience by providing excellent customer service and hospitality.
- Utilize POS systems for order tracking and communication with the kitchen staff.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in guest services or food service is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality standards is an advantage.
- Excellent phone etiquette for any necessary communication related to guest services.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

**You will need to be avail to work part time evenings from approx 5pm-9pm

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
