We are currently seeking a **Network/System IT Administrator **to join our IT Department located in Waterloo, Ontario.

**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Maintains the performance, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of firewalls, network switches, Wifi, PBX, servers, storage in a mix Windows \ UNIX environment
- Monitor systems for alerts and takes actions to resolve as appropriate
- Tracks, escalates, follows up and resolves system issues with service providers
- Maintains comprehensive supporting documentation for installation and support
- Proactively identifies opportunities to increase productivity, improve efficiencies, leverage automation, etc.
- Maintains and preforms audits of systems such as backup and disaster recovery
- Plans and rollout system upgrades, patches as directed or as scheduled
- Monitors organization security status and posture on both end-user and business systems
- Work with the Director of IT and IT Administrator to respond in a timely manner to all security instances and threats.
- Administers, monitors, and maintains accurate records of software subscriptions, licenses for server and network infrastructure.
- Respond to escalated service desk tickets in a timely manner from our Help Desk Team.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Director of IT
- Some travel required between facilities (Waterloo, Brantford, Arthur, and Vancouver British Colombia)

**Qualifications for this position include**:

- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years’ experience administrating Microsoft Windows Servers and VMware environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Strong time management skills including a strong ability to prioritize workload and a demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Experience working with a variety of Layer 2 and 3 networking hardware from different vendors such as Ruckus, Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto and HP
- Ability to support servers running Windows Server 2012R2 and newer, RedHat, Debian and other forms of Linux
- Experience deploying and operating database servers including MySQL, PostGres, Oracle and Microsoft SQL
- Experience operating SNMP network monitoring and management systems
- Experience operating and configuration of SIEM systems
- Working knowledge of security best practices for high availability systems

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
