We are seeking an experienced Network Monitoring Specialist to assist our IT team with configuring, optimizing, and maintaining our Zabbix-based monitoring platform. This contract role focuses heavily on implementing and managing SNMP-based monitoring, ensuring our systems are fully visible, reliable, and proactively monitored. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Zabbix and a strong understanding of SNMP protocols, network infrastructure, and alerting best practices. Key Responsibilities: Configure, maintain, and enhance the Zabbix monitoring platform to meet organizational needs.Develop and fine-tune SNMP monitoring across network devices, servers, and applications.Add, modify, and maintain monitored hosts, items, triggers, and templates in Zabbix.Ensure monitoring data accuracy, platform stability, and reliable alert delivery.Collaborate with IT and Infrastructure teams to identify monitoring requirements and deploy effective solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SNMP polling, traps, and Zabbix agent configurations.Create clear documentation for monitoring configurations, alerting logic, and escalation workflows.Provide insights and reporting on system performance and uptime trends. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience configuring and managing Zabbix monitoring environments.Strong knowledge of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) including setup, polling, traps, and MIB/OID management.Solid understanding of network fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, ICMP, DNS, etc.).Experience administering Linux/Unix systems. Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and data extraction.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.Ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and timelines
