- About The Job- The primary purpose of the Payroll Associate is to support the timely and accurate processing of payroll in accordance with the Company’s policies and in compliance with statutory legislation.**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare data and complete entries to be approved by the Manager, HR for upload to the payroll system for the processing of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
- Audit payroll registers in preview mode and submit all corrections for approval.
- Following each payroll cycle, prepare and balance payroll runs.
- Maintain the filing system for payroll records, both hard copies and digital files.
- Update employee records in the payroll system, including the set-up of new hires, employee status changes and changes to labour and departmental allocations.
- Audit payroll data entered by other team members and investigate potential issues and/or errors.
- Prepare and distribute payroll management reports.
- Participate in the year-end reconciliation process up to and including the issuance of T4s
- Review and approve Record of Employment (ROE) and T4s.
- Respond to enquiries by employees with respect to payroll and benefits.
- Identify and report on important regulations, legislative or industry changes that impact HR policies and procedures.
- Participate as a key member of the HR Team, involved in other functional areas including benefits administration, employee relations and compensation planning.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing using automated, web-based systems
- 5+ years of progressive work experience
- Working towards or attainment of a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
- Strong affinity and comfort for numbers and analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to interact with all levels of employees with diplomacy
- Intermediate level in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel
