We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our team as our _**Yard Lead and Forklift Operator.**_

The Ultimate Deck Shop is a building materials supplier for the outdoors, primarily decks, fences, pergolas. As the Yard Lead and Forklift Operator, it will be your responsibility to ensure a SAFE workplace for yourself, your team mates, and our customers. Daily duties will include loading and unloading building materials, pulling and packaging orders, supervising a team of helpers/ delivery drivers, and ensuring an organized, efficient, and enjoyable workplace. You will also be responsible for daily yard checks to ensure products are neat and properly covered, as well as ground checks for loose nails and other sharp objects. Previous forklift experience is a must. Previous experience in a lumberyard would be considered an asset. Valid forklift certification would be considered an asset, but not a requirement. A focus on safety is of utmost importance. Your ability to promote a fun and enjoyable work environment while also leading a team of people with the end goal of complete customer satisfaction is pivotal. Wage will be negotiated based on experience

**Yard Lead and Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities**
- Load and unload building materials from semi trailers and customer trailers
- Maintain a high focus on workplace safety
- Pick orders and prepare for delivery
- Organize and execute daily deliveries
- Communicate with customers to assist with loading their materials
- Supervising a small team of laborers and delivery drivers
- Maintain a leadership role and open communication with customers, contractors, sales team

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- Forklift experience
- Experience operating heavy machinery
- Organizational skills
- Experience leading others
- Valid drivers license

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
