Position Summary: The Cathodic Protection Crew Lead is responsible for conducting external corrosion surveys on pipelines, identifying potential corrosion risks, and ensuring that all collected data is accurate, complete, and organized for reporting. This role requires the ability to operate specialized inspection equipment, locate and mark pipelines, and oversee the safe and efficient execution of field activities. **Position Information**- Start Date: ASAP- Duration: 2-3 months (work expected to slow in late November or December)- Rotation: 17/4 rotation, including travel days (typically starting on a Tuesday)- Shift: Day shifts, 10-12 hours in length- Location: Projects in Northern Alberta (Fort McMurray, Conklin, Manning, Rainbow Lake, etc.)- Accommodations & LOA: Provided **Responsibilities**: - Execute data acquisition and assessment procedures specific to pipeline integrity programs. - Install, test, adjust, and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and cathodic protection (CP) test points/stations. - Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements, and rectifier readings. - Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements. - Locate pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electromagnetic and GPS equipment. - Conduct over-the-line depth of cover, close interval CP (CIPS), and coating surveys. - Document physical features of the installation site for the creation of detailed as-built drawings. - Lead and mentor crew members while overseeing the preparation of survey reports and final job reports. **Requirements**: - Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license or equivalent with a clean driving record; remote location navigation experience, including Argo/ATV utilization, is considered an asset.- High school diploma required; technical degree/diploma or AMPP (Cathodic Protection Tester or Technician) certification considered strong assets.- Minimum 1 year of experience in pipeline external corrosion surveying, inspection, or related field, with a basic understanding of corrosion control and cathodic protection principles; leadership experience in a field or crew environment preferred.- Strong work ethic, good communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.- Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving and time management skills.- Available to travel (>80%) and work multiple days in remote locations, including extended stays in camp accommodations.- Able to walk long distances over rough, uneven, and steep terrain while carrying equipment; physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.- Comfortable working in all weather conditions and recognizing/responding to environmental hazards (e.g., wildlife, insects, uneven footing).- Commitment to safety, including proper PPE use at all times. **Benefits**: The strength of Acuren lies in its outstanding people.
