Sharon Museum & Gardens (formerly the Sharon Temple National Historic Site & Museum) is an open-air museum with eight heritage buildings and two interpretive buildings located on-site. The Museum is located in the heart of East Gwillimbury on four acres and features three heritage gardens in addition to the collection of heritage buildings on-site. Each summer, we offer six weeks of themed summer camps that strive to provide a positive, educational, and rewarding experience for all campers.

**Primary Job Functions**:

- Plan and program six weeks of day camp programs for participants aged 6 -12 around themes such as nature, STEM, history, and physical activity, including administrative and evaluation measures.
- Implement six weeks of day camp by maintaining an organized and planned schedule for children and staff to follow, which will include tracking attendance, permission forms, and camper information.
- Supervise and lead two other camp staff members and assume responsibility for all campers in order to provide a welcoming and safe camp environment.
- Maintain positive communication between campers, parents, managers, partnering groups, and staff throughout the summer.

**General Duties**:

- Provide interpretation to the public through tours, education, and outreach programs.
- Support event implementation and assist with program preparation.
- Assist staff with daily attendance tracking, gift shop inventory, and cash balancing.
- Provide support as needed for other staff members.
- Other tasks as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Two years of previous camp experience, preferably one year in a supervisor role.
- Currently enrolled or graduated from post-secondary studies in a related field, such as Education, Early Childhood Education, or Recreation and Leisure.
- Have an interest in the fields of Education, Recreation, or Leisure.
- Previous experience working with the public in a structured setting, in a paid and/or volunteer capacity.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle difficult and confidential situations, possessing strong conflict resolution skills.
- Must possess or be willing to train for Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Be prepared to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings.

This position is a full-time temporary contract, 35 hours per week, and the contract is for 12 weeks beginning June 2nd, 2025.
