Services Technician, Public Sector

ThinkOn is expanding its **Public Sector** team

**You Will**:

- Assist in solutions-based design for both the company and public sector clients under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support research, design, planning, and coordination of infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, and improvements.
- Participate in investigations of public sector client infrastructure setups, assess capabilities, and contribute to recommendations for addressing various issues.
- Contribute to the research of new products to enhance and standardize Public Sector Services solution offerings.
- Actively engage in maintaining business hours system administration and routine maintenance work, including occasional off-business hour system maintenance.
- Contribute to operational and business-critical projects with guidance from senior team members.
- Participate in internal and public sector-focused meetings, providing technical assistance and support.
- Perform other related tasks as required.

**You Have**:

- Completion or pursuit of a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Entry to intermediate level with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a technical role related to IT infrastructure support.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components, including Windows server, network, virtualization, and backup.
- Familiarity with Active Directory Infrastructure, DNS, DHCP, and other Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Exposure to Windows Server, Linux Server, VMware, with the ability to learn and troubleshoot basic problems.
- Interest in LAN and WAN networking, switching, routing, and firewalls.
- Willingness to develop skills in enterprise-level infrastructure support, including disaster recovery technologies.
- Ability to assist in needs assessments and contribute to technical recommendations.
- Basic documentation skills with an emphasis on diligence.
- Interest in learning about IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud-based services.
- Awareness of IT security principles.

**Security Clearance**:

- Eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret Clearance Status
