Program-curriculum Administrator, Electrical Trades

Reporting to the Campus Director, the Program-Curriculum Administrator collaborates with the program staff and faculty, campus management, and the Education Department to develop (or revise) a program’s curriculum for Sprott Shaw College (SSC). This document is intended for part
- or full-time employees of SSC; however, independent contract work (non-employee) will meet the same requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop curriculum, including:
- Establish program/course objectives (and/or learning outcomes)
- Assist in selection of textbooks, other written materials, and other information sources and technology
- Create curricular materials using SSC templates and following SSC policies, procedures, and educational standards that may include course outlines, lesson plans and course overviews, assessments / quizzes, projects and assignments, presentation materials (e.g. slide presentations), and other handouts and documentation required for courses.
- Develop all exams and other graded work to match the program outcomes, using all available tools, include external testing software (e.g. ExamSoft)
- To assist in curriculum development, may be asked to analyse labour market information and incorporate research and development into the completion of curriculum
- Communicate, as requested, with the Director of Curriculum Services, other staff within the Education Department, and in collaboration with other staff, such as other course developers
- Participate and support instructors and other campus staff, where applicable
- Participate in information sessions and other methods with admissions representatives
- Participate in program advisory committee meetings if requested
- Ensure standardisation of all teaching materials, delivery platforms, and operational delivery in consultation with the Education Department
- Submit all course materials and other curricular documents for approval, including all new curriculum and revisions for placement in the college’s systems, including permanent storage, relevant platforms, and our learning management system (G2)
- Develop and contribute to a strategy of utilising all resources (including electronic resources) that publishers provide to Sprott Shaw and its students to maximize the investment
- In conjunction with the campus, act as a liaison with external governing bodies and profession associations that may be related to the program being developed and ensure all documentation and procedures comply with the regulatory body.
- Review all documentation involved with student learning, including their administrative file, clinical and practicum documentation, and admissions documents.
- Able to teach the programs being developed, mínimally on a casual/substitute basis.
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

- Ensure that learning outcomes continue to meet with changing community, industry, and workplace needs
- Adhere to external governing bodies’ guidelines and regulations
- Serve as a resource for instructors
- Meet timelines and standards to ensure course delivery on schedule
**Qualifications and Education**:
- Minimum of degree, diploma, or equivalent in the industry/field for which the program is being offered
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the field of study; experience as an instructor is an asset, including familiarity with private college education delivery
- Education/training in Adult Education (e.g. instruction, curriculum design)
- Understand the theories and processes of instructional design for adult learners
- Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, materials, procedures, and practices related to curriculum
- Knowledge of leading-edge educational technologies. i.e. distance learning platforms, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, publishers, other educational institutions, regulatory bodies, employer groups, and the community at large
